12th Annual WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon

Wow! You Did it!

I said we were going to make this year's race the best comeback event ever as we returned to an in-person event after two years of virtual participation. And boy, did you all prove me right!

Meet our top fundraiser, Tara Brewster!

She raised over $4000 (in about 10 days).

She is a rock star community giver and AMAZING Fundraiser! She offers tips to our race community and teaches us how to make it fun and really pretty easy! She brings out the generosity in folks and pays it forward in SO MANY WAYS.

Meet Sue Martino!

She has run every single WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon - all 12 years, even virtually...and she has been a fundraiser year after year as well.

She ran in honor of her sister this year, who is currently fighting the fight.

Meet Gretchen Loebel!

She is another "All 12 Years Runner."

This year she not only raised a bunch of money but she shared the road with her 14 year old daughter who ran her very first half marathon. WOW!

Meet Meridith Maslowski!

Not only was this where she ran her first half marathon, this year is was her 100th half marathon she ever ran.

We are honored to have her be part of our race community as well as raise money for our cause.

Meet Abbie Zaret!

She is an avid runner, awesome mom, and Professor of Psychology at Clark University where she also currently serves as the Director of Women’s & Gender Studies.

Not only that, but Abbie is the author of over 140 peer-reviewed articles, over 25 book chapters, and four books. Somehow, she found the time to help support Cancer Connection by raising over $1600.

Meet Joan Griswold!

She's been running this half marathon for a bunch of years.

She is a true survivor in every sense. She has rallied her troops to run with her for years too. They are known as Team Terry - running in honor of their friend Terry who lost her fight.

This year Joan even had her daughter running as part of her team on the streets of Chicago.

Thank you Joan for always making this race your goal and for always being a rock star fundraiser-making such an impact. We appreciate you so much.

Meet Marissa LaFond!

She raised over $1500 this year. After a little detective work, we've discovered that she set a Personal Record at the race by 8 Minutes!!! WOWZA!! Way to run girl!

We are more than honored to have you break your record at our venue all while making SUCH a wicked impact on our fundraising effort.

Meet Chelsea Swasey!

Not only did she ROCK in the fundraising department, raising $1080, this girl trained hard for her VERY FIRST Half Marathon and she finished in under 2 hours. AMAZING!

That also counts as a PR (personal record), talk about all things good. WOW!
